About the Role

Brunel is seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring our clients' projects are executed in compliance with all relevant environmental and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and Regulatory Compliance Plans to ensure compliance with host-country regulations and project obligations.
  • Work closely with project teams, environmental and socioeconomic consultants, and EPC contractors to ensure that environmental and regulatory requirements are properly integrated into project designs and implementation plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams and EPC contractors on regulatory compliance and environmental performance, ensuring that all relevant host-country regulations and project obligations are met.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements, and investigate and report any non-compliance issues.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and coordination procedures between field locations and project teams to ensure seamless implementation of EMPs and regulatory compliance plans.
  • Participate in project worker and team training sessions to ensure that all personnel are aware of environmental and regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of effective EMP implementation and environmental performance monitoring procedures, and coordinate activities with Site Construction Managers and Supervisors.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on environmental and regulatory compliance, including EMP implementation and performance monitoring reports, to ensure that all stakeholders are informed of project progress and compliance status.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a closely related position, preferably in the construction or extractive industry.
  • University degree in Natural or Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Social Sciences, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Excellent English speaking and writing skills, with familiarity with the predominant in-country language(s) desirable.
  • Good interpersonal skills, supervisory/organizational talents, and proven ability to work in a positive team manner.
