Job Title: Retail Operations Leader

The Retail Operations Leader is a key member of the Store Leadership Team, responsible for driving overall store performance and ensuring seamless operations. This role involves leading and directing the freight flow process, supervising backroom operations, and overseeing markdowns to company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Store Leader to achieve financial targets and key metrics.
  • Utilize company reports to assess efficiency, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure proper scheduling of team members to meet business objectives.
  • Direct and monitor team member activity to maximize productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with all State, Local, and Federal regulations.
Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, direct, and supervise the work of assigned team members.
  • Plan staffing needs and coordinate recruitment, selection, and training.
  • Provide effective onboarding of new team members.
  • Regularly observe, assess, interact, coach, and counsel direct reports.
Merchandise Flow and Markdown Management:
  • Oversee the receiving and posting of trucks.
  • Manage freight flow process to the sales floor within company guidelines and timeframe.
  • Ensure all disposal merchandise is properly processed.
  • Oversee the operation, organization, and cleanliness of the backroom.
Customer Service:
  • Model company's customer service expectations.
  • Oversee and coach store team in providing efficient and friendly service.
  • Drive the customer experience and ensure resolution of customer issues.
Leader on Duty Role:
  • Responsible for opening and closing the store according to company policies.
  • Provide leadership and direction to store members and ensure store, merchandising, and customer service standards are continuously met.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma; Post-Secondary degree/diploma preferred.
  • Results-driven retail store management experience.
  • Able to demonstrate mastery of skills required for Team Leader-Softlines and Team Leader - Hardlines positions.
  • Proven ability to supervise and motivate team members at all levels.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move throughout all areas of the store; sales floor, receiving, register areas, including outside perimeter of the store.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry products weighing less than 5 lbs.
