Job Title: Principal UAS Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal UAS Systems Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Systems Design and Architecture organization, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and fielding collaborative autonomous solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop UAS system functionality in a fast-paced development environment
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to rapidly develop and demonstrate UAS system capabilities
  • Define key system concepts, capabilities, and limitations, as well as CONOPS and architecture
  • Develop, capture, maintain, and communicate system behaviors, structures, timelines, states, and configurations
  • Present status and analyses to various internal and external stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 8+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Security Clearance
  • Experience working with cross-disciplined teams and prior experience with UAS system development and design
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Domain and/or background knowledge in one or more of the following areas related to Fixed Wing UAS system design: UAS Command and Control Systems, Airframes/Structures/Thermodynamics, Electronics, Communications, and Power, Autonomous Systems and Algorithms, Flight Management Systems, Surveillance sensors and algorithms, Human / machine interface, Information Assurance and Cyber Threat Considerations
  • Experience piloting Fixed Wing UASs and integrating, demonstrating, and deploying complex Systems comprised of embedded SW/HW
