Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to lead our Advanced Primary Stroke Program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai's affiliation with NYC H+H Queens. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in General Neurology and Stroke, with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the Advanced Primary Stroke Center, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining certification status.
  • Clinical Responsibilities: Coordinate and provide direction to the stroke care team, including communication and coordination with medical staff, quality, nursing, and other departments as needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Act as a resource with regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Education and Training: Provide teaching and supervision to advanced practice providers, students, residents, and medical students.
  • Patient Advocacy: Design policies and services that promote patient rights and optimal environments of care.
  • Tele-stroke Program: Assist in coordination of the tele-stroke program and transfers to other facilities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Medical degree from an accredited university.
  • A valid New York State License, DEA, and Medicaid number.
  • Board certified in General Neurology and completed residency in an ACGME accredited Neurology residency program.
  • Completion of a fellowship in vascular neurology preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, patient-centered health system.
  • Ability to build and maintain supportive relationships with diverse groups.
