Key Responsibilities

Instructional Coaches are entrusted with the following key duties:

  • Demonstrating outstanding classroom practices through teaching demonstrations.
  • Collaborating with the school leadership to cultivate a unified understanding of effective teaching methodologies.
  • Leading the execution of comprehensive school improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitating professional development opportunities, including establishing observation and feedback protocols for teacher collaboration.
  • Exemplifying effective learning strategies and assisting educators in utilizing feedback to enhance their teaching practices.
  • Providing data-driven feedback to educators to support their professional growth.
  • Offering expert guidance on strategies and processes that influence both individual and institutional professional development.
  • Mentoring and supervising student teachers and coaching fellow educators.
  • Utilizing student performance data to inform instructional strategies and assess program effectiveness.
  • Creating and advocating for school-wide professional learning frameworks and practices.
  • Engaging in reflective practices by seeking feedback from peers and leaders to continuously improve instructional effectiveness.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the school principal in consultation with the incumbent.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration with the relevant teaching authority and possess qualifications or substantial experience in the specified curriculum areas.
