Deli Operations Manager

As a Deli Manager at Restaurant Depot, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our entire cold area of the store, including the deli, meat, produce, and freezer. This role requires strong leadership skills, as you will be responsible for supervising other managers and stockers. Your duties will include conducting daily/weekly/monthly cycle counts and reports, ensuring all product is stocked and rotated properly, and maintaining air stock.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service and develop relationships with large customers.
- Supervise and work together with the Deli Supervisor (if applicable) and Stocker/s to ensure shelves are stocked and merchandise is rotated.
- Assist in developing schedules, monitor performance, and recommend discipline as needed.
- Train employees in job responsibilities and safe operating procedures, and interview candidates for hire.
- Ensure employees are performing proper inspections to meet HACCP regulations and conduct periodic HACCP audits.
- Review inventory for product rotation on a daily basis to prevent shrinkage and damages.
- Ensure shelf pricing is correct and reflects the most recent pricing and market conditions.
- Supervise and work alongside the Stocker/s in receiving all deli products and ensure proper paperwork is completed.
- Maintain accurate computer inventory levels by performing physical inventories and making adjustments.
- Maintain refrigerated equipment and ensure maintenance contracts and schedules are followed.
- Supervise the ordering of deli products from vendors to ensure competitive pricing and minimal shrink due to spoilage.
- Ensure all employees in the department can operate equipment such as the Toledo scale and Dennison label machine.
- Coordinate the proper block and date tags on pallets stored in the racks.
- Follow a regular maintenance schedule to maintain the cleanliness of the area by scrubbing and pulling out pallets and cleaning underneath.
Requirements:
- Must pass a drug screen.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be at least 18+ years old.
