Job Summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Teacher to join our team. As a Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a classroom atmosphere that generates high expectations and enthusiasm for learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and standards.
  • Use assessment strategies to assist in the continuous development of students.
  • Use effective communication techniques with students, parents, and stakeholders.
  • Engage in continuous professional quality improvement for self and school.
  • Use appropriate techniques and strategies to promote critical, creative, and evaluative thinking capabilities of students.
  • Use instructional strategies and materials that reflect each student's culture, learning styles, special needs, and socio-economic background.
  • Fulfill the terms of any affected written contract and adhere to code of ethics and principles of professional conduct.
  • Use an understanding of learning and human development to provide a positive learning environment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the subject matter.
  • Establish a classroom management system that maintains appropriate discipline and creates a positive learning environment.
  • Plan, align, implement, and evaluate effective instruction and assessment in a variety of learning environments.
  • Work with peers, parents, community, and other stakeholders in the continuous improvement of educational experiences.
  • Integrate appropriate technology in teaching and learning processes.
  • Complete training and obtain endorsement for working with Limited English Proficient students.
  • Keep school records and prepare and submit reports as required by law and regulations.
  • Account for all school property and adhere to good safety procedures.
Requirements
  • Appropriate State of Florida certification.
  • Computer skills as required for the position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
