Medical Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Care Specialist to join our team at Blue Mountain Heart To Heart. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced healthcare professional to provide exceptional care to individuals in Southeast Washington.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in addiction treatment and be certified as an ARNP, PA, or CRNA. Experience in mental health medication prescribing, monitoring, and management is also preferred. American Society of Addiction Medicine Certification (ASAM) is a plus. The selected individual must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and documentation skills.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure confidentiality and anonymity of program participants
- Perform initial assessment and ongoing care of patients' medical, physical, and psychosocial status
- Evaluate health and medical history; perform a physical exam, conduct preventive screening
- Deliver medications for opioid use disorder as appropriate
- Accurate and timely documentation of observations, interventions, plan of care, referrals, and follow-up
- Formulate appropriate differential diagnoses based on history, physical examination, and diagnostic testing
- Make appropriate referrals to other health professionals and community agencies
- Chart progress notes as appropriate; integrate treatment plans with non-medical program staff to provide team-oriented, patient-centered care
- Regularly review chart notes of program staff and offer feedback
- Collect accurate charting data to assist monthly reporting requirements
- Work in various clinical settings, including the Walla Walla County Jail, mobile health clinic, and fixed locations
Blue Mountain Heart To Heart is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting public health through advocacy, education, harm reduction, clinical services, and support for individuals across a spectrum of chronic conditions. Our mission is to encourage an environment of dignity and improved quality of life for the entire community.
This role offers a competitive salary range of $150,000 - $180,000 annually, along with a bonus of $5,000 paid at three and six months of service. Full-time positions come with health insurance and a 10% benefit payment toward certain programs, including retirement accounts, 529 tuition savings plans, and child care service expenses. All permanent positions over 20 hours weekly qualify for these benefits.
Qualifications and Requirements- 3+ years of experience working in addiction treatment
- Mid-level certifications (ARNP, PA, CRNA)
- Experience in mental health medication prescribing, monitoring, and management preferred
- American Society of Addiction Medicine Certification (ASAM) preferred
- Active medical license without restrictions
- Familiarity with electronic client record software systems
- Proficient computer skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
