We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Renal Care Specialist to join our team at Fresenius Medical Care North America.

About the Role:

The Renal Care Specialist will work under the direction of the Clinical Manager and with guidance from experienced colleagues to provide high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for delivering excellent patient outcomes, and a commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest nephrology practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications as prescribed or in accordance with approved algorithms and document medical justification and effectiveness.
  • Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures are performed and reschedule missed or insufficient collections.
  • Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
  • Delegate tasks to direct patient care staff, including LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians.
  • Monitor patient care staff for appropriate techniques and adherence to FKC policy and procedures.
  • Promote infection control, equipment, and environmental safety.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current appropriate state licensure.
  • Minimum of 9 months experience as a Registered Nurse (preferred).
  • Chronic hemodialysis experience (preferred).
  • Successful completion of FKC Education and Training requirements for new employees.
  • Successful completion and maintenance of CPR BLS Certification.
  • Meet all conditions of employment, including Ishihara's Color Blindness Test.
