Meat Department Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Meat Department Team Lead to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects. You will also be responsible for leading and developing Team Members, ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Maintain Store Layout and Product Merchandising: Create and implement visually appealing store layouts and product displays that drive sales and customer engagement.
- Work with Team Leader to Achieve Sales and Labor Targets: Collaborate with the Team Leader to set and achieve sales and labor targets, ensuring the department is operating efficiently and effectively.
- Assist with Analysis of Sales and Labor Reports: Analyze sales and labor reports to identify trends and areas for improvement, providing insights to the Team Leader to inform decision-making.
- Assist with Annual Sales and Expense Projections and Budget Preparation: Assist the Team Leader in preparing annual sales and expense projections and budgets, ensuring the department is aligned with company goals and objectives.
- Assist with Ordering and Inventory Management: Assist the Team Leader with ordering and inventory management, ensuring the department has the necessary products to meet customer demand.
- Work with Team Leader to Resolve Team Concerns or Issues: Collaborate with the Team Leader to resolve team concerns or issues, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
- Function as Point Person and Departmental Person in Charge: Serve as the point person and departmental person in charge in the absence of the Team Leader, ensuring the department continues to operate smoothly and efficiently.
- Set and Achieve High Standards of Retail Execution: Set and achieve high standards of retail execution, ensuring the department is consistently delivering exceptional customer service and sales results.
- Foster a Positive Environment of Outstanding Teamwork and Morale: Foster a positive environment of outstanding teamwork and morale, ensuring Team Members are motivated and engaged.
- Maintain Awareness of Customer Flows and Needs: Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, directing Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
- Select, Train, Develop, Mentor, Motivate, and Counsel Team Members: Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
- Communicate and Maintain Team Member Safety and Security Standards: Communicate and maintain Team Member safety and security standards, ensuring a safe and secure work environment.
