Job Summary

The House Laundry Attendant is a key member of the Highgate team, responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our hotel's linens and laundry facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, managers, and fellow employees, maintaining a friendly, helpful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Operate washing machines and dryers with precision, adhering to established standards and protocols.
  • Load and unload washes according to established procedures, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Wash, dry, and fold all dirty linens, towels, and rags, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality.
  • Sort and categorize hotel linens according to type, color, size, and other relevant factors, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
  • Pre-treat stained linens before washing, utilizing effective techniques to remove tough stains and odors.
  • Clean and maintain laundry equipment, including dryers and irons, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Sweep and mop laundry floors, storing linens off the floor to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
  • Fold and arrange towels and linens in a neat and attractive manner, adhering to established standards.
  • Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts, ensuring efficient processing and minimizing waste.
  • Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris, maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to established standards and protocols.
  • Sort and load clean laundry according to type and destination, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction, responding promptly to concerns and maintaining a positive attitude.

Requirements

  • Flexible scheduling, including long hours and varied shifts, to meet the needs of the hotel.
  • Medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift, maintaining a high level of energy and productivity.
  • Maintain regular attendance, adhering to Highgate's scheduling standards and protocols.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Comply with Highgate's standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
