Job Overview:

The Room Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the Lodge, ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests. This position involves various cleaning and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to: vacuuming, dusting, washing items, collecting trash, and proper sorting of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly cleans guest rooms and common areas, which includes making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Replenishes supplies and maintains cleanliness of windows, mirrors, and patios.
  • Utilizes cleaning chemicals safely and is familiar with all material safety data sheets.
  • Maintains a well-stocked and organized housekeeping cart with necessary supplies.
  • Reports any maintenance issues through the appropriate channels for prompt resolution.
  • Documents and secures lost and found items effectively.
  • Interacts with guests in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Restocks housekeeping cart at the end of each shift to ensure readiness for the next day.
  • Assists the House Attendant by delivering guest requests and collecting used items.
  • Conserves energy by managing shades and draperies and adjusting heating and cooling in unoccupied rooms.
  • Reports any hazardous conditions in the work area or with equipment to a supervisor.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as required.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in housekeeping, sanitation, laundry operations, or guest services.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Prior experience in general cleaning or housekeeping roles.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Able to push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Able to bend, stretch, and twist as necessary.
  • Able to stand for extended periods.
  • Able to work with cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines.
