About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified and accomplished scholar to join our faculty as a tenure-track assistant professor in British literature and culture of the long nineteenth century. The successful candidate will have a strong research agenda, a commitment to teaching excellence, and a passion for mentoring students.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in British literature and culture of the long nineteenth century, including surveys, seminars, and workshops.
  • Develop and maintain a research program that contributes to the field of British literature and culture of the long nineteenth century.
  • Mentor and advise students in their academic and professional pursuits.
  • Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and outreach activities.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in English or a related field by August 16, 2025.
  • Strong research agenda and publication record in British literature and culture of the long nineteenth century.
  • Excellent teaching and mentoring skills, with a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching and mentoring students from underrepresented groups.
  • Strong connections to the academic community, including professional organizations and networks.
