About the Opportunity

The University of South Carolina College of Nursing is seeking a distinguished nurse scientist to fill the Dunn-Shealy Endowed Professor of Nursing position. This esteemed role will lead the development of cancer and oncology research within the College of Nursing, leveraging the institution's strong research reputation and existing centers of excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the expansion of cancer and oncology research initiatives within the College of Nursing.
  • Collaborate with researchers across the University and its partners to advance knowledge and innovation in cancer and oncology.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive research plan, securing external funding and resources to support the growth of the research program.
  • Mentor and supervise students and junior faculty, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation in research and scholarship.
  • Contribute to the development of the College's research agenda, ensuring alignment with the institution's strategic goals and priorities.
Requirements

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in nursing, with a strong record of research and scholarship in cancer and oncology. A history of securing federal funding and demonstrated leadership in building and managing a research enterprise are essential qualifications. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the College's research reputation and advance the field of cancer and oncology research.
