The successful candidate will lead the property financial management team, ensuring precise financial reporting and adherence to applicable regulations and standards. We seek an individual with significant experience in property finance, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a comprehensive understanding of the commercial real estate sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Supervise the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Guarantee compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting principles.
- Review and validate financial reports for accuracy and thoroughness.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Direct the annual budgeting process for all properties.
- Analyze budget variances and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Develop and maintain long-term financial projections.
Team Leadership:
- Guide and mentor the property financial management team.
- Delegate tasks, establish objectives, and assess performance.
- Promote a collaborative and high-achieving work environment.
Accounts Payable/Receivable Management:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Ensure prompt and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Manage tenant billing and collection processes.
Support for Property Management:
- Work alongside property managers to deliver financial support and analysis.
- Assist in preparing operating expense reconciliations.
- Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for property transactions.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
- Establish and maintain internal controls to protect company assets.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits and reviews.
Systems and Process Enhancement:
- Assess and improve accounting systems and processes.
- Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay informed on industry trends and technological advancements.
Strategic Financial Planning:
- Engage in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Provide financial analysis to support business development initiatives.
- Assist in due diligence for acquisitions and dispositions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a management capacity within the commercial real estate sector.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Outstanding analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-disciplined with sound judgment.
- Adept at multitasking while fostering positive working relationships.
- Proactive in problem-solving and process improvement initiatives.
