Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Supervise the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Guarantee compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting principles.
  • Review and validate financial reports for accuracy and thoroughness.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Direct the annual budgeting process for all properties.
  • Analyze budget variances and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain long-term financial projections.

Team Leadership:

  • Guide and mentor the property financial management team.
  • Delegate tasks, establish objectives, and assess performance.
  • Promote a collaborative and high-achieving work environment.

Accounts Payable/Receivable Management:

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Manage tenant billing and collection processes.

Support for Property Management:

  • Work alongside property managers to deliver financial support and analysis.
  • Assist in preparing operating expense reconciliations.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for property transactions.

Compliance and Internal Controls:

  • Establish and maintain internal controls to protect company assets.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits and reviews.

Systems and Process Enhancement:

  • Assess and improve accounting systems and processes.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and technological advancements.

Strategic Financial Planning:

  • Engage in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
  • Provide financial analysis to support business development initiatives.
  • Assist in due diligence for acquisitions and dispositions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a management capacity within the commercial real estate sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Outstanding analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-disciplined with sound judgment.
