Job Overview

This role is a critical partnership between External Relations and Finance, ensuring the accurate reconciliation of fundraising donation records between External Relations Operations and the accounting financial ledger records. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing innovative methods to reconcile fundraising financial transactions to the financial accounting system.
  • Coordinating the gift entry process to ensure accurate data entry into donor databases.
  • Working closely with Direct Response vendors to reconcile gifts in Raiser's Edge and Finance.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc accounting and development projects as requested.
  • Reviewing incoming donation processes in The Raiser's Edge fundraising database to ensure accurate informational workflows.
  • Generating complex Microsoft Excel formula edits and creating additional fields into financial reconciliation documents.
  • Reconciling all fundraising donation types with the Finance Department on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Maintaining the External Relations gift adjustment process, including adjustment logs and entries into database systems.
  • Leading special initiatives and projects in External Relations related to financial transactions in donor database systems.
  • Assisting the External Relations Operations team with special projects related to financial reconciliations, such as annual Finance audit preparations and executive reporting.
  • Creating innovative solutions for financial reconciliation workflows to improve processes.
  • Providing support to External Relations staff to ensure accurate gift processing.
  • Coordinating gift processing procedural updates and troubleshooting transaction processing errors.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2-3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising operations.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge fundraising software (required).
  • Experience with Luminate, RE NXT, Import-O-Matic, and Research Point (preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including Excel.
  • Familiarity with FileZilla and mass batch import in CRM software.
  • Conceptual knowledge of nonprofit fiscal accounting.
  • Superb attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Direct experience handling cash, check, EFT, and credit card donations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to serve as a collaborative partner with Finance.
  • Demonstrated initiative in work tasks.
