Position Overview:
The Front Desk Supervisor plays a crucial role in guiding and leading the Front Office team, ensuring that exceptional customer service is consistently delivered. The responsibilities include:

  • Effectively communicating both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to team members.
  • Monitoring lobby activity and adjusting staffing levels as needed.
  • Welcoming guests with a friendly and sincere demeanor.
  • Completing the registration process efficiently, including verifying guest information and room rates.
  • Promoting the Hyatt House marketing initiatives.
  • Assigning rooms based on guest preferences and requirements.
  • Managing cash transactions and maintaining an accurate house bank.
  • Handling various forms of payment and processing foreign currency exchanges.
  • Maintaining composure during busy periods and emergency situations, serving as a role model for the Front Office team.
  • Resolving guest issues by conducting thorough investigations and providing effective solutions.
  • Making informed decisions based on experience and judgment, while exploring alternative solutions when necessary.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Ability to effectively engage with both internal and external customers, demonstrating patience and diplomacy.
  • Basic mathematical skills and proficiency in using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Capability to stand and move continuously within the front desk area.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports on room availability and revenue.

Education and Experience:
A high school diploma is required, with some college education preferred. While prior experience is not mandatory, two years of combined front desk and supervisory experience is advantageous. All employees are expected to maintain a neat and professional appearance.

Additional Information:
Applicants with additional language skills are preferred. Please note that the hotel operates 24/7, and employees may be required to adjust their shifts based on business needs.

Compensation:
The compensation for this position ranges from $16.00 to $16.45 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
