Nuclear Field Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nuclear Field Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a Nuclear Field Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct highly visible work with a broad spectrum of responsibility, including technical support, consultation, and oversight through the performance of installation, testing, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of complex equipment and nuclear systems.
- Provide technical direction for problem resolution and oversee compliance with contractual requirements.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new products and equipment upgrades as necessary.
- Function independently to ensure the best interests of the Company.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 9 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 7 years of relevant experience; or Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part II qualified; or qualified SIT and 3 years EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Currently or previously CRE qualified; or 6 years as SRE; or SRE qualified and 9 years of experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience in applying innovative solutions to resolve problems/improve performance.
- Prior Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program operational or design experience is desired but not required.
- Strong leadership and mentoring ability.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to varying tasks and responsibilities.
- Experience working with US Navy Nuclear Fleet and/or nuclear capable shipyard.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. All candidates must be U.S. citizens. Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. FMP is a government contractor and maintains a drug free workplace and workforce. All candidates must be able to pass a drug test in compliance with FMP company policy and 10 CFR 707.
