Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to join our team at Cherry Talent Group. As a key member of our cabinet shop operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the production process, ensuring high-quality products, and driving efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel.
  • Set LEAN manufacturing objectives and goals for the department.
  • Utilize daily improvement time for you and shop employees.
  • Manage the ordering and receiving of all shop materials and supplies necessary for production.
  • Monitor tool and part inventories and their condition and maintenance to ensure adequate supplies, materials, tools, safe operating conditions, and a safe work environment.
  • Act as a key leader in identifying, proposing solutions, and solving quality problems as identified by our internal and external customers.
  • Analyze existing processes as well as initiate and develop new methods in order to reduce waste and improve quality.
  • Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
  • Compile operational and personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results.
  • Recommend/initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
  • Counsel employees on work-related issues and assist employees to improve skills and performance.
  • Supervise shop employees. Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance, recognizing and coaching as appropriate.
  • Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
  • Communicate with engineering regularly to accommodate upcoming work, requests new work or special projects, and proposes new methods or solutions as needed.
  • Perform quality control of work to comply with project specs and HTC standards.

Requirements
  • Must have full working knowledge of cabinet shop operations.
  • Must have full understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, frequent pushing and pulling of 50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms; use fine motor coordination and eye-hand coordination.
  • Frequently required to stand, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • As needed, demonstrate proper millwork and general work techniques (equipment and machine operation, etc.), including safety.
  • Knowledge of machines, equipment, and tools, including appropriate use and basic maintenance.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, safety, quality control, basic cost drivers, and other techniques for maximizing efficiency.
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally in English (verbal, written, aural).
  • Preferred: English/Spanish bilingual.
  • Able to work cooperatively in teams and resolve basic conflicts with little or no assistance.
  • Able to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for tasks.
  • Able to manage own time and other times while dealing with competing deadlines/priorities.
  • Able to perform detailed work and make effective decisions to maintain production, quality, and safety under pressure and deadlines.
  • Able to solve problems and develop creative methods to improve production, efficiency, control costs, and still maintain safety.
  • Using experience, knowledge, and judgment, able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Proficient with use of computers/mobile devices (used to track production, cost, and payroll).
  • Able to read shop drawings and computer-based designs using industry-specific software, as well as standard software.
  • Able to use arithmetic, geometry, and algebra to calculate measurements, such as length, surface area, and volume.

$80,000-$85,000
