The Applications Specialist Senior provides administration, configuration, and support for the Dynamix AX 2012 R3 application in the Office of the Treasurer. Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and configure the Dynamix AX 2012 R3 application
  • Provide Tier 3 and 4 level support and maintenance for the application
  • Perform technical work of considerable difficulty in planning, coordinating, and executing application activities and projects
  • Work as part of the Dynamix AX team to provide application maintenance and updates as specified by vendors and industry standards
  • Perform implementations, upgrades, and enhancements to Dynamix AX 2012 R3 per business requirements
  • Provide Tier 1-3 support functions and issue resolution for Dynamix AX 2012 R3
  • Elicit and analyze requirements of relevant application and project work by participating in design sessions with stakeholders, project managers, business analysts, and team members
  • Create knowledge base articles describing troubleshooting steps and procedures
  • Provide training on application enhancements, modifications, and new features including documentation
  • Analyze and resolve performance problems including application, database, and system-related issues

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the current version of MS Dynamix AX 2012 R3
  • Knowledge of current versions of Microsoft SQL Server including T-SQL & SSRS
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop, server OS, and IIS management
  • Knowledge of system design, development, and implementation
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and operating capabilities
  • Proficient in troubleshooting complex application, integration, and performance issues, conducting root cause analysis, and providing solutions that minimize the impact to the business
  • Skill in planning, organizing, and managing projects
  • Ability to effectively train personnel in application configuration, integration, and best practices
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees, agencies, vendors, and the public
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience administering and supporting Dynamix AX 2012 R3
  • Experience with Windows Server
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL 2012 to 2019
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience managing software implementation projects
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Experience working with mission-critical enterprise Dynamix AX 2012 R3 applications in an administrator/implementer role
  • Experience providing direct customer support and end-user training
  • Experience working with software vendors, contractors, and industry experts in a project lead or technical lead

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Experience administering and supporting Dynamix AX 2012 R3
  • Experience with Windows Server
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL 2012 to 2019
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience managing software implementation projects
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
