This position is crucial for the maintenance and operation of computer systems and networks. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Successful candidates will be tasked with:

  • In-depth knowledge of deploying information systems and managing Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and Domain Name Service (DNS).
  • Overseeing Microsoft operating systems, including Windows 2008(R2) and Windows Server 2003.
  • Deployment and troubleshooting of messaging protocols with Microsoft Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010.
  • Utilizing backup technologies such as Symantec Backup Exec and NetApp SIPR/NIPR Access Point (SNAP) manager.
  • Reviewing and implementing vendor updates for security patches.
  • Managing storage technologies like Storage Area Network (SAN) or Network Attached Storage (NAS).
  • Employing server performance tuning and monitoring tools.
  • Configuring and managing servers using tools like Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • Conducting network troubleshooting and documenting network modifications.
  • Possessing experience and skills in server performance tuning, monitoring tools, and technical documentation.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Three (3) years of experience in Windows 2003 server and Exchange 2003 systems administration.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a military setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a keen attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, an Associate's degree with 7 years of specialized experience, or eleven (11) total years of specialized experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Active certifications relevant to the position requirements.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must possess one (1) of the following certifications:

  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) CE
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (or Associate)
  • GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED)
  • GIAC Incident Handler (GCIH)
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
