Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Novant Health. As a key member of our clinical laboratory, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory procedures, including quality control, specimen collection, processing, testing, and reporting of lab results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory procedures, including quality control, specimen collection, processing, testing, and reporting of lab results.
  • Assist in the evaluation of new or modified techniques as required.
  • Advise and assist in the orientation and training of other personnel on equipment and software as necessary.
  • Manage vendor relationships, supply orders, and inventory.
  • Perform instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in procedure writing and oversight of off-shift responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory, or equivalent education and training.
  • Three years of experience as a laboratory technician.
  • MLT Certification from ASCP or AMT.
  • Knowledge of current medical terminology, laboratory equipment, and testing procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with medical staff and patients.
