Overview:
The Quality Control Specialist will report directly to the Associate Director of Quality (Materials). This role is essential in supporting the Warehouse operations, which include receiving goods, sampling, and managing the outbound shipping process. The specialist will conduct incoming inspections, which encompass identification testing and sampling of raw materials and GMP supplies (such as components and printed packaging materials) using SAP and laboratory systems. Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for delivering samples to laboratories and maintaining retention samples.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to safety protocols by utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper lifting techniques, supporting all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) corporate and site objectives.
- Document inspections following established procedures and specifications.
- Ensure that materials failing to meet specifications are quarantined according to local protocols.
- Assess damaged materials discovered in inbound shipments or within the warehouse to determine their acceptability.
- Evaluate temperature excursions on materials received at the warehouse.
- Identify and assist in resolving issues related to inbound shipments, such as incorrect quantities or contamination.
- Execute necessary transactions in SAP to accurately reflect the status of materials (e.g., Quality Inspection, blocked, scrapped).
- Initiate complaints or remarks to suppliers regarding materials that do not meet expectations.
- Participate in investigations concerning materials or service complaints as needed.
- Draft and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and material specifications as required.
- Collaborate with other quality functions and support material-related Supplier Change Notifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work schedule consists of 8-hour days, Monday through Friday.
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as necessary.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cGMP regulations relevant to Quality Assurance in Warehouse and Inspection settings.
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency in computer applications.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while remaining flexible and working independently in a fast-paced environment to meet production demands.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with facility or area start-up projects.
- Prior experience in GMP production and warehouse environments.
- Familiarity with statistical tools and analysis.
- Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., EWM, SAP).
- Experience using Trackwise.
