Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual Collections Counselor to join our team at Dovenmuehle Mortgage, Inc. As a Collections Counselor, you will be responsible for resolving delinquent accounts and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delinquent Account Resolution: Answer high-volume inbound calls and/or generate high-volume outbound calls to delinquent borrowers to resolve account issues.
  • Counseling and Negotiation: Counsel borrowers on options for meeting their payment obligations, explain terms, and arrange repayment plans based on department procedures.
  • Financial Analysis: Discuss financial status, review monthly income and expenses, and determine reason for non-payment.
  • Loss Mitigation Assistance: Offer Loss Mitigation assistance, and if appropriate, explain options and processes in detail.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Demonstrate accurate knowledge and strict application of federal regulations and collection laws (FDCPA).
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain and document mortgage collection systems and databases with all activities and communications.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts with misapplied payments.
  • Training and Development: Successfully complete annual regulatory compliance training.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical Skills: Solid PC skills, including Microsoft applications and loan servicing platforms.
  • Communication Skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with all levels of both internal and external audiences.
  • Bilingual Skills: Bilingual in Spanish, with the ability to pass bilingual certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Collection Experience: Knowledge of loan servicing software/systems, collection experience, and call center experience.
