Job Summary:

The Legal Specialist at JobRialto monitors proceedings of the Public Utility Commission of Texas and other state and federal agencies, prepares and files procedural and regulatory filings, calculates and calendars deadlines for procedural and regulatory filings, and assists in administering Market Participant registration matters, including the Client's membership registration process.

This role also assists with Client's Board of Directors meetings on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Client's Legal Department with various matters concerning regulatory filings and monitoring, and Market Participant registration.
  • Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
  • Manage routine assignments while maintaining a high rate of accuracy.
  • Contribute to specific objectives and outcomes as directed.
  • Monitor and prepare daily reports of industry filings submitted in relevant Public Utility Commission of Texas and federal proceedings.
  • Monitor and prepare reports on public filings that may impact existing regulatory requirements.
  • Handle routine filings with state and federal agencies and courts.
  • Assist with the Client's membership registration process.
  • Review Market Participant applications and supporting documents for completeness, accuracy, and proper signatures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of Market Participant registration matters as required.
  • Act as a liaison with Market Participants, Board of Directors, and Corporate Members as necessary to perform job duties.
  • Assist with Client's Board of Directors meetings.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of applicable/job-related work experience in excess of degree requirements.
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required) or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree (Preferred).
  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred).
  • Experience with regulatory filings in the energy sector.
  • Familiarity with JobRialto's operations and membership processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
