POSITION SUMMARY

The Lead Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in overseeing project operations across various disciplines, ensuring effective collaboration between the organization and its engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partners.

This position serves as a crucial liaison, facilitating communication with all stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, and internal teams, such as Regulatory and Permitting.

The primary objective is to guarantee that project execution aligns with contractual commitments, adheres to timelines, and meets established specifications.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage technical interfaces and collaborate with operations and maintenance teams.
  • Support engineering quality assurance initiatives.
  • Coordinate input from various departments to integrate feedback on design documents produced by the EPC contractor.
  • Oversee the review and approval process for technical inquiries and deviations related to engineering scopes.
  • Work closely with the regulatory and permitting teams to provide necessary technical support for compliance processes.
  • Collaborate with cost estimating, document management, and project control teams.
  • Implement health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) best practices throughout project design and execution.
  • Engage in risk assessments, including HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL studies, as well as independent project reviews.
  • Assist in developing key project philosophy documents, focusing on standardization, modularization, equipment handling, and layout.
  • Contribute technical insights for project cost estimates, including owner-related expenses.
  • Participate in creating essential EPC documentation, including scope of work and procedural requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Process Safety Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the execution phase of LNG liquefaction or significant oil and gas projects.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in supporting regulatory compliance for oil and gas initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Comprehensive understanding of project management principles and EPC project phases.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, systems, and standards relevant to the oil and gas sector.

EDUCATION

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline is required.

Successful candidates will demonstrate effective communication skills across all organizational levels, exhibit teamwork, and possess strong reporting capabilities. They should thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be comfortable with hands-on responsibilities.
