Job Summary:

As a Senior Electrical Engineer - Project Lead at CivicMinds, Inc, you will be responsible for independently evaluating, selecting, and applying engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to concurrent engineering projects. You will apply engineering judgment in making adaptations and modifications to projects, and may manage one or more engineers and/or designers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Significant design and design review responsibilities, engineering calculations, studies, detailed design, report writing, field investigations, and direction of lower-level engineers and/or designers.
  • Interact with Project Managers and other engineers.
  • Direct project workflow of engineers, designers, and drafters to ensure project completion.
  • Responsible for the technical content and quality of the work, and the functional integration of individual project tasks.
  • Select and apply engineering principles and concepts in the field of specialization with advanced working knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Responsible for reporting on work progress.
  • Provide input to the Project Execution Plan.
  • Perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Frequently interact with clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Responsible for following and implementing corporate safety protocols and for scheduling mandatory safety meetings.
Complexity, Decision-Making, Problem-Solving & Nature Of Impact:
  • Conform to and utilize established design and quality standards for project deliverables.
  • Follow direction and support efforts of Project Team and Project Manager.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating discipline-specific information to Lead Engineer and appropriate team members.
  • Establish and implement the project design basis for discipline.
  • Manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and work with Lead Engineer to develop contingency plans.
  • Demonstrate an advanced level of proficiency in technical subjects.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Demonstrate an advanced ability to work with various engineering software packages in standalone or network configurations.
  • Possess advanced technical skills and understanding of interdisciplinary design processes.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload for self and others.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead and direct project personnel.
Management Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for management of engineers and designers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university required.
  • Typically, twelve plus years related engineering experience.
  • PE preferred.
  • Ability to work with engineering software packages a plus.
  • Microsoft Office experience required.
