Weston & Sampson is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead our stormwater engineering team in Reading, MA.

This role will support a team of civil and environmental engineers on the planning, design, and construction administration of various stormwater projects for our municipal clients across Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead project teams in the development of stormwater engineering reports, studies, and designs, utilizing recognized industry standards and regulatory-compliant approaches.
  • Assess opportunities and define project scope, schedule, and fee, as well as determine work procedures and staffing and subconsultant assignments.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor engineering staff.
  • Lead Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination (IDDE) catchment investigations and outfall sampling programs for compliance with the MS4 Permit and administrative orders.
  • Manage technical and support staff on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Adhere to project budgets, track financial performance, and manage invoicing.

Requirements:

  • 8 to 15 years of relevant experience working with municipal clients in engineering or project management roles.
  • Expertise with all facets of Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System General Permit (MS4 Permit) compliance.
  • Working knowledge of HydroCAD and PCSWMM to support stormwater design projects.
  • Understanding of typical project funding mechanisms, local government budgeting and procurement processes, and federal, state, and local regulations.
