POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
This role involves conducting research as part of a project supported by the Department of Energy under the ARPA-E ROSIE initiative aimed at reducing carbon emissions in iron production. Key responsibilities include achieving project objectives, which may encompass tasks related to prototype development, material analysis, electrochemical processes, experimental work, simulations, and data interpretation. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with fellow researchers, establishing research timelines, managing budgets, and organizing team meetings.

ABOUT THE OFFICE OF POSTDOCTORAL AFFAIRS (OPA)
The mission of the UNLV Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) is to foster and support postdoctoral training and career advancement; act as the primary resource for postdoctoral inquiries and issues for faculty, supervisors, mentors, and both prospective and current postdocs; cultivate a community for all UNLV postdoctoral scholars; and offer professional development opportunities and networking events.
UNLV currently hosts postdoctoral scholars across various fields of study.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must possess a PhD from an accredited institution recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Applicants should have a background in design and fabrication, along with experience in conducting experiments to evaluate performance or analyze materials.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is $42,800 - $75,000, or commensurate with market conditions and the availability of funds from the appointing authority. This position is contingent upon funding.
