This 36-bed Orthopedic Medical Surgical unit specializes in the care of patients with a range of conditions, including Orthopedic, Spine, Neurological, Plastics, and Trauma related surgeries. The unit serves the general adult population, from young adults to geriatric patients. Located on the 6th floor, this specialty inpatient unit operates at an accelerated pace, caring for post-operative patients, trauma stepdown, and patients admitted through the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Prescribe, delegate, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate patient teaching and the activities of ancillary nursing personnel.
- Provide direct and indirect care to patients.
- Graduate of a State Board accredited School of Nursing or equivalent.
- 1 year of RN acute hospital experience preferred.
- Current RN license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
- American Heart Association BLS – within two (2) weeks of employment.
