Job Summary

The Security Officer - Hospital Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our hospital campus. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol hospital grounds and buildings to identify and mitigate potential security risks
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, providing assistance and support as needed
  • Conduct investigations and gather evidence to support incident reports
  • Develop and maintain relationships with hospital staff, patients, and visitors to promote a safe and secure environment
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services to ensure a coordinated response to incidents
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry standards

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical stamina to perform duties in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Law enforcement or security experience
  • Emergency operations center experience
  • Healthcare knowledge and experience
  • POST skills, International Association of Hospital Safety and Security certifications, or other relevant certifications
