Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Program Industrial Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our industrial engineering team, you will be responsible for maximizing throughput, improving efficiency, and delivering increasing value to our customers.

As a Principal Program Industrial Engineer, you will partner closely with Factory Industrial Engineers, Area Transformation Industrial Engineers, and other functions to create predictable manufacturing systems. You will be responsible for Labor Performance Analyses, Process and Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layouts, Factory Simulations, Strategic Planning, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, and more.

You will model factory operations by generating process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show production processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key performance indicators.

You will apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce undesirable effects, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals.

You will influence factory roadmaps and investment strategies by drafting infrastructure improvement and expansion proposals, and planning the integration of new products, technologies, and equipment that create a competitive advantage.

You will work with cross-functional teams to execute projects that address obsolescence, improve factory performance, and promote growth.

This role may require infrequent travel up to 10% to suppliers and Raytheon factories outside of Tucson.

Industrial Engineering tools and methods used to build factory models to advance continuous improvement and future-state forecasting.

Aspects of the Defense Industry and how to meet challenging mission requirements while also meeting cost, quality, and schedule targets.

Executive Presence and how to support leadership in making data-driven decisions that result in measurable improvements.

Project planning and project management techniques to deliver results and meet critical milestones supporting key business objectives.

Strategic planning and how to develop business proposals that generate returns on invested capital within the factories.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, or similar engineering discipline with a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, or a minimum of 6 years with a master's degree in a similar discipline.
  • S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance.
  • Experience/Education with factory layout and work cell design/optimization.
  • Experience/Education with simulation modeling and capacity analysis tools/methods.
  • Experience/Education with project management.
  • Experience/Education with CAD software.
