We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Ryder in Portland, ME. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance, component inspections, and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance
- Perform standard component inspections and repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems
- Identify root cause of failures and perform repairs
- Replace defective components
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
- Utilize Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check
