Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant

Job Summary:

The Senior Staff Accountant will work closely with departmental staff to manage offshore teams and ensure the completion of day-to-day accounting functions. This role requires a strong background in balance sheet reconciliations and a clear understanding of full cycle accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage offshore teams and provide guidance on task completion.
  • Verify and confirm revenue, journal entries, invoices, inventory, bank reconciliations, and other transactions to ensure accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Support operational locations in completing daily and weekly tasks, including inventory, daily sales reports, and P&L variances.
  • Lead the month-end close process and provide assistance to internal and offshore teams.
  • Prepare internal monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, equity roll forward, and statement of cash flows.
  • Participate in corporate and franchise tax preparation, quarterly and interim review activities, and year-end audit activities.
  • Perform complex analysis and prepare account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
  • Calculate and record fees, accruals, and allocations.
  • Review Alcohol tax reports and Sales tax reports for the State of Texas and file monthly returns.
  • Track fixed assets from purchase to disposition and calculate depreciation monthly.
  • Oversee and maintain prepaid account schedules and recognize expenses timely.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting as needed in partnership with the FP&A team.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required, with a minimum of five years of full cycle GL experience.
  • Previous hospitality industry experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of inventory.
  • Advanced proficiency in current versions of Microsoft Excel is required, with Power BI experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, with a strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of policies and procedures is required, with the ability to serve as a resource for knowledge transfer and training.
  • Ability to interact effectively with various levels of staff and management across departments.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills are required, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
