Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at The Forest at Duke. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, preparing and cooking premium food items for our residents, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and service.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Collaborate with our culinary team to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
  • Manage kitchen inventory and supplies to minimize waste and optimize resources.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our residents and their families.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in food preparation, handling, and cooking.
  • Prior experience in fine dining, Four & Five Star/Diamond Hotels and resorts is highly preferred.
  • Current or previous supervisor experience with the ability to manage, direct, influence, and motivate direct reports.
  • Culinary education/schooling is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills; able to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
  • Customer service focus; able to resolve conflict/issues without becoming emotional or defensive.
  • Strong time management skills; able to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion.
