Position Overview: At Harmony Haven Home Care, we are seeking a dedicated Direct Care Specialist to deliver individualized support and care to our clients within their residences. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing their daily living experience and ensuring they feel secure and valued in their own homes.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with essential personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, and hygiene maintenance.
  • Support household management tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and shopping for groceries.
  • Provide companionship and encouragement during various daily activities, creating a nurturing and uplifting atmosphere.
  • Observe and document the client's health status, relaying important information to the Homecare Manager and other healthcare team members.
  • Remind clients about their medication schedules (note: medication administration is not permitted).
  • Address the emotional and social needs of clients, serving as a compassionate listener and companion.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety protocols.
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments and social engagements as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling all client-related information.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in home care, nursing, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in caregiving or a similar capacity; prior homecare experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with household tasks and meal preparation, with sensitivity to dietary needs.
  • Commitment to following health and safety guidelines.
  • Empathetic and respectful demeanor with a strong focus on client service.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Able to work in dynamic environments; physically capable of assisting clients as necessary.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license (with insurance) and dependable transportation.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.
  • Ability to perform physical duties such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • HHA and CNA certifications are preferred.
