We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Operations Analyst to join our team at Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA). As a Cyber Operations Analyst, you will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating risks to our information technology and operational technology systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide system cybersecurity risk management framework (RMF) documentation support
  • Support the Security Control Assessor-Validator
  • Implement and enable software applications developed by the Department of Energy
  • Monitor, analyze, and detect cyber events and incidents
Requirements:
  • US citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, etc.) and 5-7 years' experience or a master's degree and 3-5 years' experience
  • Previous experience with DoD network security
  • Previous experience with risk management framework (RMF) documentation
  • Experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Authority to Operate artifacts
  • Programming experience (Python, C++, etc.)
  • Understanding of information technology threats and cybersecurity practices
  • Hands-on experience with security monitoring, threat hunting, malware analysis, signature development, and shell scripting
  • Ability to travel to various military installations
Desired Qualifications:
  • Active/Current DoD Security Clearance
  • Team and project leadership experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience installing, configuring, and administering software applications
  • Experience with firewalls and network TAP technologies
  • Working knowledge of DoD's IT system and network certification and accreditation processes, to include system security authorization agreements
