POSITION SUMMARY:

The Safety and Security Specialist is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and customer-focused atmosphere at all times. This role is essential in ensuring the protection and safety of guests, staff, and company assets. Candidates must be capable of standing or walking for extended periods, navigating stairs, responding effectively to emergencies, and executing the fundamental responsibilities associated with this position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitor and document any infractions related to regulations, internal controls, or company policies.
  • Engage professionally with both internal departments and external law enforcement agencies as necessary.
  • Prepare written reports of incidents and events as required.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
  • Take a proactive role in fostering positive relations with employees and guests, maintaining a professional appearance.
  • Stay vigilant to potential issues within the observation area, supporting this focus through continuous patrols.
  • Manage crowd control effectively, prioritizing the safety of patrons and employees, especially during emergencies, drills, and special events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

All essential duties and responsibilities must be executed competently and satisfactorily. The following skills and abilities are necessary for the role of Safety and Security Specialist. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to fulfill the job requirements.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Candidates should possess an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic demeanor. Comfort in initiating conversations and creating an enjoyable environment for guests is essential.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:

Ability to read and understand written instructions, correspondence, and memos. Capable of writing detailed reports and forms clearly. Proficient in verbally communicating information to guests, clients, supervisors, and colleagues in a professional manner.

MATHEMATICAL APTITUDE:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and understand ratios, percentages, and graphical data representation.

PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense in executing instructions provided in various formats. Capable of addressing issues involving patrons and employees effectively.

PERSONAL COMPETENCIES:

Responsible for creating a positive atmosphere. Must demonstrate courtesy towards all guests and colleagues. Actively participate in community initiatives and company-sponsored events. Support and exemplify exceptional customer service in line with departmental and company standards. Ensure compliance with established behavioral and appearance standards. Maintain a professional work environment with management and staff.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly required to communicate in a moderately noisy environment. Frequently required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods. Must be able to use hands for various tasks, reach with arms, and perform physical activities such as climbing or balancing. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
