Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic radiologic examinations, including routine, difficult, and complex studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiographic examinations of the head, trunk, and extremities for diagnoses of illness and injuries.
  • Position patients, select and set technical factors, and make exposures necessary for the requested procedure.
  • Correlate clinical history, pertinent clinical data, and other ancillary diagnostic examinations to obtain radiographic images of optimal value.
  • Assist in training employees and student technologists, coordinate radiation safety, and evaluate the nature of critical and emergency procedures.
  • Perform quality control/assurance checks on studies performed to ensure that only optimally diagnostic images are forwarded to the radiologist(s) for interpretation.
Requirements
  • Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in duration in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • Certification in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R).
  • Ability to check system for operation and assess acceptable performance based on established guidelines.
  • Knowledge of patient's clinical record, diagnosis, and laboratory results.
  • English language proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 or more years of Radiographer experience ARRT.
