Job Summary:
Norwich University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Information Warfare Subject Matter Expert to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for advancing our knowledge in the domain of Information Warfare (IW) by creating and directing IW training, establishing networks, and managing IW resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver IW training programs for university faculty and students to enhance their understanding of doctrinal concepts, planning, emerging real-world trends, and equipment.
- Manage and mentor assigned interns to develop and deliver research materials and/or projects as assigned by faculty within specified timelines.
- Build and maintain the NU Peace and War Center IW Microsoft Teams workspace/knowledge center, ensuring it remains a relevant and accessible library for University/NUARI research needs.
- Continuously research and update the knowledge center with case studies, doctrine, and other pertinent materials to maintain its relevance and accessibility.
- Assist and advise on the development of the NUARI DISRUPT Platform.
- Assist and advise on directed projects as directed (CSI 22, etc.).
- Assist in designing Norwich/NUARI's Information Warfare Lab Concept.
- Develop and manage the NUARI IW lab.
- Advise and assist in the development of an academic IW curriculum for NU envisioned courses/minor in Information Warfare/Advantage.
- Advise and assist on NU/NUARI marketing/brand development as IW/IA Center of Excellence.
- Build and expand NU/NUARI network and affiliations within DOD/USG IW/IA mission owners/career fields.
- Collaborate on synchronization of IW/IA critical development areas with NU/NUARI Cyber program owners (Quantum, AI, Deepfake, Cognitive Security Cyber Defense).
- Create and maintain Cyber/Social Media cloud-based range for cyber/social media exercises that can replicate desired information environments in at least four different geographical areas (US, Eastern Europe, Taiwan, Arab Peninsula).
Other Responsibilities:
- Assess the performance of direct reports and provide frequent feedback to optimize their performance.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive or private information.
- Communicate with employees, students, and others in a respectful and clear manner.
- Serve on University committees, councils, workgroups, or other designated bodies as assigned.
- Achieve and maintain proficiency in, and utilize, computers, telephones, and other job-related equipment, including related systems and software.
- Speak, read, and write in English.
- Communicate by telephone, email, letter, in person, or other means or device.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- Education/Experience: College degree or 5 years' experience in an information operations field.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook).
- Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 30 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campus.
- Work some evening or weekend hours.
- Travel as needed (public or private transportation).
Environmental Conditions:
- Indoor work at a computer workstation.
- Low level of exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes.
