Position Overview

As an integral part of our healthcare team, the Advanced Practice Provider will deliver comprehensive medical services to a diverse patient population under the guidance of a supervising physician.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an advanced practitioner, orchestrating holistic care delivery. This includes prescribing medications, ordering laboratory tests, and coordinating diagnostic evaluations and follow-up care to ensure seamless patient services.
  • Conduct thorough patient histories and perform detailed physical examinations.
  • Evaluate the educational needs of patients and their families, as well as the healthcare team, and develop tailored educational programs related to the specialty area.
  • Act as a patient advocate, collaborating across various disciplines to address patient needs effectively.
  • Engage in communication and collaboration with other healthcare professionals, providing expert consultation in your area of specialization.
  • Assist in and perform designated medical procedures as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in medical records and dictate necessary information as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and evaluation of healthcare services, measuring outcomes and recommending improvements to enhance patient care quality.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program is required.
  • Current Michigan State Physician Assistant License is mandatory upon hire.
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is required upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required within 90 days.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required within 120 days if applicable to the specialty.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 lbs on occasion.
  • Frequent standing and walking are necessary, with occasional sitting.
  • Requires manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed tasks.

Work Environment

This position is part-time, primarily during daytime hours, and may involve a Monday through Friday schedule.
