Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Engineer to join our team at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in modernizing the power grid using data science and machine learning techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in research and development of new power grid modeling and simulation algorithms
  • Apply data science techniques to power system engineering applications
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to develop and implement new solutions
  • Co-author scientific papers and reports, and present findings to internal and external audiences
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field
  • Fundamental knowledge of power system automation, operations, and planning, modeling and simulation, machine learning/artificial intelligence
  • Experience with standard programming languages for data analytics, visualization, and algorithm development
  • Ability to collaborate well in a team environment and present technical information
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • 1+ years of experience working with utilities, Department of Energy, and/or other relevant state government agencies
