Metrology Specialist

MTS Systems is seeking a highly skilled Metrologist to join our team. As a Metrologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of our measurement systems.

• Develop and implement measurement processes based on customer requirements and industry standards.
• Provide technical support and leadership to ensure industry practices and metrology principles are taken into consideration.
• Calibrate measurement and test equipment (M&TE) and provide calibration support throughout the laboratory.
• Develop and maintain measurement uncertainty budgets and analysis.
• Lead in the development, validation, and implementation of new calibration processes for the laboratory.
• Ensure and maintain measurement traceability.
• Participate in various stages of product development to ensure credibility of proposed product specifications.
• Develop and validate calibration methods based on principles of measurement science and industry standards.
• Perform technical analysis of measurements results based on the requirements for uncertainty, accuracy, precision, and traceability.

• AAS or technical degree or relative Military education, or equivalent technical program.
• 10 years' calibration and metrology experience.
• Broad exposure to multiple measurement technologies including physical, electrical, and dimensional.
• Well versed in ISO/IEC 17025 along with other recognized industry calibration practices, including relevant ASTM and or ISO Standards.
• Working knowledge of PC's in a windows environment with experience in Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Displays competence in all phases of measurement traceability and demonstrates a thorough knowledge of metrology in a laboratory and or on-site environment.
• Ability to comprehend and apply oral and written communication.
• Must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationship with all levels of employees.
