Role Responsibilities

What is the Role of the Director, Social Media?
The Director, Social Media will spearhead the strategic planning and tactical execution for a designated business portfolio, acting as the principal social media advisor to account teams and external clients. A solid history of identifying, securing, and expanding both organic and new business avenues is essential.

This position collaborates with fellow Directors and the Senior Director to foster team development, enhance internal education across departments, and promote knowledge sharing and communication, with the goal of embedding social media as a core competency within the organization.

As the primary subject matter expert and project leader for the assigned business portfolio, this role will work closely with clients to keep them informed about social media trends and technologies while aligning with their marketing goals in the pharmaceutical sector.

Within the Social Media team, the Director is expected to lead team meetings, produce documentation and articles that support both the team and EVERSANA INTOUCH, and ensure timely, budget-conscious, and targeted delivery of client projects. The Social Media team serves as a group of experts that collaborates with clients and internal teams to enhance both agency and client capabilities in social media, content creation, and customer engagement.

The team engages daily with internal and external clients, fostering strong partnerships and addressing clients' strategic challenges, marketing initiatives, and educational needs regarding new media.

Qualifications

What Qualifications are Required?

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Approximately 10+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably in a consultative or agency setting; experience in pharmaceuticals is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated expertise in marketing and advertising, particularly in digital strategy, media, and technology.
  • Proven experience in social media and related technologies.
  • Exceptional multitasking, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong client relationship management and business development skills.
  • Strategic thinking and robust business acumen.
  • Ability to delegate effectively and guide team members.
