Academic Researcher Position in Oral Microbiology

Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) is a renowned academic health center that takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research. We are seeking a highly qualified candidate for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Oral Biology at the School of Dental Medicine within RBHS. The successful applicant will have expertise in microbiology, immunology, epidemiology, bioinformatics, or cancer research related to oral microbiomes. The ideal candidate will establish an independent, innovative, and collaborative research program that complements and expands existing programs in basic and translational research.

Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining an active research program
  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses
  • Mentoring students and postdoctoral researchers
  • Pursuing extramural funding opportunities

The selected candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching mission of RSDM and Rutgers University, utilizing their expertise to enhance the educational experience of students.

The Department of Oral Biology is housed within RSDM, boasting newly renovated research laboratories centrally located in Newark, NJ, approximately 40 minutes from the central campus in Piscataway and 20 minutes away.
