Aids families and caregivers in cultivating empowerment skills through self-advocacy and represents participants when necessary. Supports staff and participants in grasping recovery concepts and shares personal experiences that contribute to rehabilitation. Acts as a role model to assist staff in comprehending recovery and shares unique experiences that promote habilitation. Organizes community meetings with participants. Plans and leads family peer support groups centered on recovery-related topics. Undertakes additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Documentation and Record Keeping: Records information promptly in accordance with AltaPointe policies. Ensures documentation is clear, legible, and concise. Chronicles individualized participant responses to services rendered. Supervision and Guidance: Seeks guidance and consultation as necessary. Welcomes and implements suggestions for enhancement. Actively pursues skill development. Participates in staff meetings as required. Professional Conduct Towards Consumers, Visitors, and Colleagues: Treats participants with respect, dignity, and compassion. Upholds participants' privacy and confidentiality. Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Must be at least 23 years old, possess a valid driver's license, and provide proof of current liability insurance.

Must be a parent or primary caregiver who has raised or is currently raising a child or young adult with emotional, behavioral, mental health, or substance use challenges.

Must have experience navigating at least two child-serving systems (e.g., IEP, DHR, juvenile court system).

Must be willing to identify as a parent or caregiver of a recipient of mental health services and openly discuss personal experiences.

Ability to work flexible hours is essential.

Must be able to attend Department of Mental Health approved Family Peer Specialist training for certification.
