{"Overview": "Firehouse Animal Health Center Leander is excited to offer a veterinary student externship program that provides hands-on clinical experience for students in their 3rd or 4th year of veterinary school. This program is designed to give students the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting and gain valuable experience in a variety of clinical settings.

Our externship program is tailored to meet the needs of each student, with a focus on providing a comprehensive and engaging learning experience. Students will have the opportunity to work with our experienced veterinarians and support staff, and will be exposed to a wide range of clinical cases and procedures.

**Clinical Experience:**

Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of clinical cases and procedures, including surgery, dentistry, and ultrasound. They will also have the opportunity to work with our experienced veterinarians and support staff to gain a deeper understanding of the clinical aspects of veterinary medicine.

**Mentorship:**

Our externship program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to work closely with our experienced veterinarians and support staff. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions, seek feedback, and learn from our team.

**Case Discussions:**

Students will have the opportunity to participate in case discussions with our veterinarians and support staff. These discussions will provide students with the opportunity to learn from our team and gain a deeper understanding of the clinical aspects of veterinary medicine.

**Externship Requirements:**

Students must be currently enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary program and be in their 3rd or 4th year of study. Students must also have a strong interest in veterinary medicine and a desire to learn and grow in a clinical setting.

Students interested in participating in our externship program should submit an application, which includes a cover letter, resume, and transcripts. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and students will be notified of their acceptance into the program.
