Position Overview:

The Senior Accounting Operations Manager will oversee the accounting processes related to revenue recognition, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the revenue recognition accounting operations, ensuring all transactions are accurately controlled and verified.
- Review and authorize reconciliations of revenue account balances and validate revenue transactions, including associated costs.
- Ensure the general ledger structure is accurately maintained and transactions are posted correctly across relevant systems.
- Prepare month-end reports and dashboards, facilitating timely close procedures.

Essential Duties:
- Supervise revenue recognition in alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant standards.
- Develop and refine policies and procedures for revenue recognition.
- Review journal entries and present monthly revenue figures for closing.
- Address ad-hoc requests related to the accounting system and ancillary software.
- Utilize SQL for processing credit card transactions and managing data in Excel.
- Oversee the preparation of records related to revenue and expense entries, ensuring accuracy in subsidiary accounts.

- Conduct reconciliations of revenue and general ledger balances, comparing reports from ancillary systems with the general ledger promptly.

Financial Reporting:
- Summarize financial status by gathering information and preparing financial reports, including profit and loss statements.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual dashboard reports detailing revenues and expenses for various management levels.

Process Improvement:
- Drive initiatives for process enhancement and data enablement to support timely and accurate financial reporting and reconciliations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, with a blend of public and private sector experience.
- Familiarity with revenue management software, particularly in the cruise, travel, or hospitality sectors, is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in computerized ledger systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience managing a small team of accounting professionals.
