Columbia, South Carolina, United States MRG Exams Full time

About MRG Exams

Founded in 1998, MRG Exams is a leading provider of Independent Medical Exams for Worker's Compensation, Disability, and the Veterans Administration.

We are seeking a licensed psychologist to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. As a Disability Assessment Specialist for Veterans, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our mission of providing high-quality medical exams to support the Veteran community.

Schedule and Compensation:

This part-time position (Thursday-Friday) offers a competitive hourly rate of $$75-$100 per hour, depending on experience, with opportunities for health insurance options.

About the Role

You will review behavioral health records electronically through a secure Web Portal and perform comprehensive assessments in person on each Veteran. You will also complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) through the Web Portal. The Licensed Psychologist does not make disability determinations; the Veterans Administration makes all disability determinations, using the findings recorded in the DBQs.

You will be responsible for reviewing and assessing approximately 4 Veterans per day on average. This independent contractor-based role requires a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (PhD or PsyD) from an APA-accredited program/school;
  • An active and unrestricted Psychology license;
  • Meet the credentialing requirements set forth by the VA;
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and assessment software.

Benefits

As a Disability Assessment Specialist for Veterans, you will have access to health insurance options and enjoy a flexible work schedule that suits your needs. If you're passionate about serving the Veteran community and have the required expertise, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
