Job Description: This role involves utilizing accounting and analytical expertise to support the financial operations of Foundations for Living. This includes managing financial activities across various departments and initiatives. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach. Key responsibilities include: preparing financial reports, managing general ledger entries, assisting with month-end financial closing processes, overseeing fixed asset accounting, conducting inventory assessments, performing bank reconciliations, reviewing balance sheet accounts, and generating variance analyses. Training in finance specific to our sector will be provided.

Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in general ledger accounting is essential. Experience in the healthcare or community service sector is advantageous but not mandatory. Familiarity with large organizations that operate multiple locations is preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and accounting software is necessary. Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to work with fractions, percentages, and ratios, are required. Experience with ERP systems is a plus. A willingness to learn new systems and processes is essential.

Other: A solid understanding of accrual accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping is crucial. Familiarity with the accounting cycle and month-end closing procedures is expected.
